Collection of extracts from last letters sent by soldiers at war. Specifically those written only to be opened in the even of death. The extracts are taken from letters across all major wars, demonstrating the fact that despite the anniversary of armistice day there has barely been a single day since in which fighting has ceased across the world.

Personal extracts were taken in an effort to reduce the anonymity of causality statistics, of which WW1 has greatest.

Starting point was taken from local war memorials, and the increasing frequency with which new names, from contemporary wars, are added to local memorials, illustrating their continued presence in communities despite the casual way people pass them everyday.
